Nick Lowe‘s third solo album, Nick The Knife, released in 1982 is a pop-rock classic, one of Lowe’s best albums although it doesn’t get proper recognition alongside his first two. His indelible wit is instantly recognizable upon seeing the album cover via the clever wordplay on Kurt Weill‘s popular standard “Mack the Knife” and a little jab at himself with the graphic “File Under: Popular Vocalist” in the upper right hand corner of the album jacket.
